The Strand is a low, sandy isthmus 7 miles long in San Diego, California. It connects Coronado Island to Imperial Beach.
State highway 75 runs the length of The Strand and is a popular site for jogging and bicycling with the most beautiful views. On one side you have the Pacific Ocean with the most stunning sunsets, and on the other side you have a view of downtown San Diego and Coronado bridge.
The Silver Strand State Beach is just 4.5 miles south of Coronado. The beach offers activities such as camping, surfing, swimming, jet skiing, sailing, water skiing, beach volleyball, and fishing. There are approximately 130 campsites available on a first come, first serve basis. Park facilities include four large parking lots.
